In the Land of Safety

In the land of safety, many things do not make sense.

To those who dwell in chaos, the peace of that land is confusing.

They cannot explain it. They cannot predict it.

These are two different worlds.

The laws that govern the land of safety appear strange—almost unreasonable—to those outside it.

Yet, in quiet moments, they envy its peace.

If you dwell in that place of safety, where nothing troubles her waters,

you must remain within its laws.

For outside the land of safety, there is chaos.

I noticed something recently in the walk with God that many believers do not seem to appreciate: the Kingdom of God operates by a different system entirely. It is not merely a better version of the world—it is another world entirely.

This truth becomes most visible when you attempt to explain Kingdom principles to people who do not live by them. What is normal to you will sound unreasonable to them. What is wisdom in your world will appear like foolishness in theirs.

Scripture already tells us this clearly:

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him…” (1 Corinthians 2:14, KJV)

It is not always a matter of intelligence. It is a matter of location—spiritual location.

This was the reality behind a recent conversation I had. A discussion arose about marriage, particularly the idea of court marriage. Concerns were raised that such arrangements could be used against men. The perspective was shaped by experiences, fears, and observations within a certain system of life.

But as I responded, I realized something: the more I explained, the less I was understood.

Because the foundation of my thinking was different.

In the world I speak from, marriage is not entered casually. A man is first trained to know God, to pray, to discern, and to be led. In that world, decisions are not merely emotional or social—they are spiritual. A man does not just “choose”; he is guided. So the structures that exist—whether legal, relational, or social—are not the primary source of safety. God is.

“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it…” (Psalm 127:1, KJV)

But in another world, where God is not consulted, where decisions are made without spiritual guidance, the same structures can become tools of exploitation or regret.

That was when understanding came clearly: we were speaking from two different worlds.

There is what can be called the Land of Safety. This is not a physical place. It is a spiritual reality—the life that is governed by God, directed by His Spirit, and sustained by His principles. In that land, things may not always be easy, but there is preservation. There is guidance. There is order.

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalm 91:1, KJV)

That “secret place” is the Land of Safety. It is the place where a man is not left to figure out life by himself. It is the place where God intervenes, corrects, warns, and leads.

Outside that land, however, is a different reality. It is not necessarily loud chaos all the time—but it is a life where decisions are made without divine input. And when God is removed from the equation, even good systems can produce bad outcomes. This is why people can look at the same institution—like marriage—and arrive at completely different conclusions. One sees protection; another sees danger. One sees order; another sees risk.

But the difference is not always in the institution. It is in the governing system of the life involved.

This is where the warning of this article lies.

If you have been brought into the Land of Safety - the place where God's laws reign supreme, do not take it lightly. Do not assume that its peace will follow you if you abandon its principles. Because the safety of that land is not accidental—it is governed.

“Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.” (Psalm 119:165, KJV)

Peace is tied to alignment. At ETT, we say "Peace is not just the absence of chaos, it is the presence of Someone - Jesus." Once a man steps outside the governing laws of that land, he exposes himself to the same uncertainties that exist outside it.

There is also a temptation that must be resisted.

It is the temptation to constantly try to explain this land to those who have not entered it. While there is a place for teaching, there is also a time to recognize when understanding is not possible because the framework is absent. Even Scripture acknowledges this limitation:

“Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine…” (Matthew 7:6, KJV)

This is not an insult—it is a principle of discernment. Not every conversation will produce understanding, because not every listener shares the same spiritual context.

So the instruction is simple, but weighty:

If you are in the Land of Safety, remain there.

Remain in its ways.

Remain under its authority.

Remain within its covering.

Because outside it, things do not function the same way.

Outside it, what should preserve can harm.

What should protect can fail.

What should bless can become a burden.

The peace you enjoy is not random.

It is the result of a life that is being governed by God.

And that is why, even if others do not understand it, you must never abandon it.

Because truly:

In the Land of Safety, things may not always make sense—

but they always hold.
